Community

Hands of diverse people stack in unity, wearing colorful sweaters. Outdoor setting with a focus on teamwork and connection.

Today I set out to visit 67 households in Edmonds near Five Corners and drop off my campaign literature. While doing so, I spoke to a former referee with whom I had officiated soccer matches, a retired teacher’s union lawyer, two members of Indivisible Edmonds, an Edmonds-Woodway HS tennis player who joined his mother at the door, a retired school psychologist, an employee of Brigid’s Bottleshop who recognized me from various events held there, a church friend of my mother’s who also taught my kids to swim, an 80-year-old mechanic who offered to donate his tools to the school district, a family that had attended the school board meeting to support adoption of our Orange Shirt Day resolution, and a Lions Club member who told me about the books they had given away to kids for free. Yes, there were plenty of homes where no one answered the door, but these interactions showed me the myriad of ways in which we are connected and deepened my sense of community. So, thank you, Edmonds precinct 29! Election Day is just 51 days away. Please consider making a donation today so we can finish strong.
